This podcast is really written by Texas herself, live, and in the words of her own people.
I   often   joke   about   not   being   the   brightest   bulb   in   the   knife   drawer.   When   I   wrote   the   book   “Texas   in   Her   Own Words”   I   never   once   thought   about   creating   legacies   for   people,   but   quite   unintentionally,   that   is   exactly   what the   book   and   this   podcast   accomplish.   We   are   preserving   their   words,   thoughts   and   insights—a   little   piece   of them. I’m deeply grateful to each one.   —Tweed Scott EVERYTHING   TEXAS,   partner!   Join   a   yarn   spun   like   a   tall   Texan   twister   tale   ...   but   true.   "Speaking   of   Texas"   is hosted by veteran broadcaster Tweed Scott, packin' the pride of Texas legacy.   —Author, Ray Palla Hi   there, Tweed   Scott   here   on   behalf   of   “Speaking   of Texas.”   We’re   coming   up   on   the   end   of   our   production   year,   and as   with   most   new   ventures,   there   are   always   growing   pains.   It   fits   here   at   the   end   of   the   year   to   take   stock   on   how our   podcast   planning   and   production   processes   have   matured   during   the   past   few   early   months   of   distribution.   It appears   we’re   showing   steady   growth   in   audience   size   and   that’s   exciting.   Building   a   loyal   audience   is   hard   work   that takes time and proper adjustment. As   we   continue   to   hone   our   plans   going   forward,   we   will   be   incorporating   some   new   broadcast   techniques   and   set some   new   goals.   Until   then,   I   have   decided   to   share   a   couple   of   podcasts   anchored   around   the   Christmas   themes from my latest book, “’Tis the Season: Reflections of Christmases Past.” Join us on the Podcasts Page  to listen. The   schedule   for   our   future   podcasts   will   be   changing   with   the   New Year.   I   want   to   be   consistent   in   what   we   offer,   so, I   ask   that   you   bear   with   us   as   we   make   it   even   better   than   it   has   been.   Sign   up   for   our   notification   list    so   we   can   keep you in the loop. Finally,   I   want   to   thank   you   from   the   bottom   of   my   heart.   It   means   a   great   deal   to   me   that   you   would   take   life’s   most precious   commodity—your   time—and   share   it   with   me.   I   am   humbled   by   that.   Merry   Christmas,   Happy   New   Year, and   take   care   of   your   precious   selves.   I   am   grateful   for   everyone   who   has   found   us   and   continues   to   listen.   Spread the word to your friends. Talk to you soon.
